Description and Uses
Potassium chloroplatinate is a red colored crystal that is soluble in water but less soluble in alcohol. Potassium chloroplatinate is produced by a complicated treatment of the reducing of platinum chloride with sulfurous gas and adding potassium chloride. It was used primarily in the platinum printing process, but also for toning silver prints.
