Description and Uses

15-keto Prostaglandin F (15-keto PGF) is the first metabolite of PGF (Item Nos. 16010 | 10007221). in the 15-hydroxy PGDH pathway. It is one of the critical components in the goldfish and Atlantic salmon postovulatory pheromone. 15-keto PGF stimulates the male goldfish and salmon olfactory receptors with detection thresholds of 10-12 and 10-8 M, respectively. 15-keto PGF is 10-fold less active than PGF in decreasing rabbit intraocular pressure.

15-keto PGF MaxSpec® standard is a quantitative grade standard of 15-keto PGF that has been prepared specifically for mass spectrometry or any application where quantitativereproducibility is required.
