Description and Uses
Tetrakis(decyl)ammonium bromide is a stabilizing agent that is used to promote substantial nanoparticle growth. Tetrakis(decyl)ammonium Bromide is also a quaternary alkyl salt used to produce organoclays.
Tetrakis(decyl)ammonium bromide acts as a phase transfer agent for:
Platinum salts from aqueous to organic phase during the synthesis of platinum nanocrystals.
Gold ions move from an aqueous phase to an organic phase during the synthesis of gold nanoparticles.
The alkylation of (E)‐pyridine aldoximes and (E)‐ketoximes with dihalohydrins.
It has been used as a reactant in the synthesis of ionic monomers to produce soft thermoplastic polyurethanes(TPU).
