N-Demethyl-α-obscurine is a chemical obtained from Huperzia plants and is studied for its phytochemical and ethnopharmacological properties. Huperzia plant is widely used by traditional medicine of Saraguro healers which led to identification of several alkaloids and triterpenoids with AChE and MAO inhibitory activity.
